Rlys to run more Bharat Darshan trains

Madurai, June 27: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) was planning to operate five more Bharat Darshan Village on Wheels Special Tourist trains, Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu said today.
Four trains would be operated from Madurai and one from Coimbatore, he said flagging off the 'Village on Wheels' train which would travel for 16 days and visit places like Kasi, Gaya and Haridwar. He said the objective behind introducing the train was to help common man to visit important religious, cultural and historical places at affordable cost and also promote tourism.
The IRCTC was also planning to tie up with nationalised banks to enable tourists avail of bank loan for package tour, costing from Rs 3,500 to Rs 8,000 per head.
The Minister said the train would also touch Allahabad, Hrishikesh, Manali, Amritsar, Delhi, Mathura and Agra. (Agencies)
