Pack your bags and get ready to hit the mountains as 'Escape' festival is back, bigger and better to celebrate the spirit of music.

The three day festival to be held in Naukuchiatal in Uttaranchal from May 21-23 will see 15 bands from across the country playing it loud by the lake, creating the mood for a perfect weekend getaway.

"People are looking for something more in their holidays; this festival will recharge your battery. We asked people 101 ways to break away from it and we got the answer in 'Escape'. Music along with travel is a much more relaxed holiday," Mohit Gupta, Chief Marketing Officer of makemytrip.com that co-organises the festival said.

'Escape', which is in its second year now, will feature some of the biggest names in the Indian music circuit like like Mrigya, Menwhopause, A Boat, Skinny Alley and Pink Noise. From rock, Hindi pop to genres like Blues, Sufi music and Fusion 'Escape' has something in store for everybody.

With music at its core, the event promises to entertain all the senses as there will be exhibition by painters Narendra Pal Singh, Biswajit Dey and Suman Bardhan, and Delhi-based photographers Shiv Ahuja and Kamal Kansara.

One can also participate in discussions with established potters, sculptors, astronomers, nature experts and yoga experts at the extravaganza.

"Escape was organised on a smaller scale earlier, this is the second year running for the getaway. It helps you to escape from the clutter of your life. As a person attending the festival you have people from all fields coming here. We have much more this time in terms of music and arts. You are just limited to just pubs in a city, for the real escape when you just want to be yourself this is perfect," said Anuradha Madan, one of the organisers.
